Printing on Ubuntu

I have MFC210C shared on my Ubuntu 9.10 via Samba and it works for the most part. However, each time I print in "Normal" mode, the text is always "double visioned". And the page printed is almost always quarter the actual area.

For the longest time I was scratching my head wondering what to do. The printer works fine if I boot the host in WinXP, so it had to be a cups issue.

Though I haven't yet figured out the cups settings, I can get around these problems by doing the following:

1. Printing in "Fine" / "Best quality" prints sharp text and graphics.
2. I have to manually set the paper size to A4 each time. By default it always shows up as "Letter", causing the printed size to be small (nearly halved in each dimension)
